Inspired by the concept of the Los Angeles Grand Central Market, the owner asked for a communal restaurant with 9 different chef counters for lease.

 

By placing a bar as an anchor at the very end of the market place, an espresso bar at its entrance and the remaining chef counters in between, we set up a processional space.  The chef counters and kitchens are located against the opposing walls of the space while the seating is mixed in along the center of the space.

The 17-foot ceiling affords ample space for advertisements in the direction of travel as well as for the placement of menus along the chef counters.

Restrooms and janitorial services are located at the back of the space near the bar, while most of the storage areas are in the basement.
