The remodel of the existing urban house involved a complete reorganization of the property. The owner’s living quarters that had previously been located at the second floor needed to be extended to the ground floor in order to provide access to the large backyard and garden.
In addition to a complete overhaul of the second floor, we had to find space for a stair and an elevator to provide barrier-free access to booth floors.
The heart of the design at the ground floor consists of a large “service wall” that contains kitchen, bathroom and various storage facilities. Kitchen and living room are connected
through a series of glazed openings and cabinets are accessible from the living room as well as from the kitchen.
